A Technical Meeting will be held in Kuala Lumpur from July 13-14 to deliberate on the design and development of a peatland fire prediction and warning system that could be used in the ASEAN region. This Meeting is being organized by the ASEAN Secretariat and GEC in collaboration with the ASEAN Specialised Meteorological Centre (ACMS), Forestry Department Peninsular Malaysia (FDPM) and the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MMD) and will focus on integrating the different systems currently being used or developed by regional countries.
